The final EP from Alcian Blue is finally here. A transitional document of a band in the midst of changes, this EP features all five members of the band. 4 previously unreleased tracks and one re-mix of Fall Behind. Some songs were written a long time ago and are just seeing the light of day though demos are easily found online. |

"A complete album that you should own and hear from start to finish with no deviations whatsoever. It features fourteen wonderful (melancholic) songs that capture (and pierce) your sad old jaded heart. This is not sweetness and light but stories of loves-u-have-lost, with melting guitars and a bass in your head. It has been far too long. However, the desperateness of the lyrics and deep-drawl vocal delivery is counter-punched with a kind of spikey, cynical guitar-led "pop" that reminds me of The Go-Betweens at their absolute peak, possibly mixed in with a little early to mid-period Felt. I recommend this album highly and ask you to open all ears and take a listen (from the first few seconds of fast and furious spunkytastic album-opener, Tied To Nowhere, I think you will be hooked in and cooked for tea...)." |

The Offering |
The first EP release from The Offering of Fredericksburg, Virginia. At its base the group plays psychedelic rock, made of Pinto's Bass, Noom's Guitar and the band's drum machine. Huffman and Critzer complet the text with echo, melody, and noise. The EP was recorded and layered by the band itself, who lent the record its sheen, the black mass of pre-pressed wax. The tracks Your Kind Wear Hoods and Snowflakes play like lost 50s greats, propulsive and minimal, removed of nostalgia. Manic Manic works in a pulse of rhythm with revolving vocals and cutting guitar for the EP's principle head nodder. Second on the EP, Moral High-Ground in California finds the reflection of bright black. The verses bound between bass and drum, with choruses circling out the speakers and guitar ringing beneath. |

Brand new single from Screen Vinyl Image. Sex at 90mph on a pitch black road! |

US/CAN: $8.00 |
Screen Vinyl Image |
Screen Vinyl Image debut with a blend of electronica and psychedelia creating a sound that is fresh and intense. Swarming with heavy samples, Blade Runner era synths, and echoed guitars and vocals, the music here is ever expanding atop an array of beats ranging from the darkest moments of Suicide & The Jesus and Mary Chain to the deep grooves of early Hank Shocklee productions, dub, and Can era kraut. Peeling back the surface of layers reveals influences in horror/sci fi cinema, early House & Italo sounds, and classic John Carpenter epics. Whether cranking in a club, gliding on the open road, or especially those late night headphone listens, each song takes you further and further out. |

The Vandelles |
Thanks to their ripping guitar lines- and even finer harmonies - The Vandelles define the distaff side of the Noir Rock sound. Their biggest hits, including "Lovely Weather" and "Swell to Heaven", remain among the most potent and enduring recordings of their era. Formed as a merger of two local vocal groups, The Mercenary Gang and Del Black Aloha, The Vandelles take aspects of Link Wray and The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Ronettes and My Bloody Valentine, Buddy Holly and The Ramones, to create a sound that's uniquely theirs. |
